In the age of “permacrisis”—an extended period of overlapping global, social, and personal upheavals in which normal cycles of recovery no longer apply—it is tempting to believe that our current experience is unprecedented. Yet for many immigrant, refugee, and diasporic communities, a state of challenge and struggle has long been a seedbed for the cultivation of spiritual, theological, and emotional resources to foster hope and resilience.

In our March panel, Dr. Daisy Machado and Dr. Russell Jeung—two scholar-practitioners whose work and lives have embodied hope and resilience—will share what these communities can teach the broader church in our turbulent times.
