Apply to North Park Theological Seminary

Let’s Get You Started On This Journey

We’re Ready to Meet You

Starting an application process is exciting—and you don’t have to know all the answers to begin. Here’s what to know about how the process works, and how to stay in touch with us so we can help.

1. Inquire Early

Even if you’re just exploring options, your email inquiry links you to updated admission info, recent seminary publications, and a direct line to an admissions counselor when you need it.

2. Speak With an Admissions Counselor

Schedule a call with an admissions counselor. Phone call, zoom, email or text—we’re flexible to what works for you, and happy to talk through your questions, whether big and small.

3. Start Your Application

The general application form can be completed in less than 15 minutes, or saved so you can come back later. After the first step, our application portal provides a helpful checklist for supporting documents.

International & Transfer Applicants

We welcome international or transfer applicants. Some additional steps or policies apply.

4. Request Transcripts and Pastor Reference

Contact previous educational institutions to send us an official transcript for grades.
Submit a name and email to start your pastoral reference. We’re looking for a spiritual leader who can speak to your character and call to ministry. We email them for you.

5. Write your personal statement

A short personal essay and series of Q & A are provided in the application portal. They can be written on your own, then uploaded via your own document. Our questions cover your ministry experiences to date, discernment process for seminary, key life moments as a follower of Christ, and vocational goals.

6. Personal Interview with Faculty or Staff member

We believe personal conversations matter—we want to know you beyond paperwork. Your interview lets you engage with someone about the seminary experience and share your academic and ministry aspirations. We’ll discuss together how NPTS aligns with your goals, ensuring a mutual good fit and fostering deeper connections and understanding as you take steps of faith.

Your faculty/staff interview is scheduled by your Admissions counselor after your application documents and requirements are fully submitted.

7. Financial Aid Review

All applications to seminary are fully reviewed for financial aid eligibility, both merit and need-based scholarships. Our commitment to affordability means that no separate application is required.

8. Decision and Financial Aid Award

Watch for our letter! We process applications and give candidate decisions on a rolling basis. A final decision and financial aid award is typically confirmed 2-4 weeks from the interview date.

9. Confirm Your Acceptance and Enroll

Congratulations! Now that you have been accepted, your next step is to submit your Seminary Commitment Form to officially enroll. Once we receive your commitment, you will work with an academic advisor to register for classes.

Start your application, start your journey.
