About Me
As a NPTS student, I am committed, growing, and community oriented. I have been at the Seminary now since the fall of 2021, and I love the campus community. I am committed to growing relationships with my fellow students, my professors, and incarcerated Seminary students at both Logan and Stateville Correctional Centers. Coming to campus for my courses, community worship, and community dinner are essential parts of my week. I learn so much from the community here at NPTS and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.
My Seminary Experience
One of the most impactful experiences I’ve had while I’ve been a student at North Park was getting to go on a travel course to France last fall. We went to the worshipping community of Taize, and the way I encountered God there and grew because of this trip are not fully able to be put into words.
Then there is getting to know and taking courses with my fellow students at Logan Correctional Center. Learning alongside them—courses like Christian Theology and Leading and Teaching in Ministry—has broadened my perspective and made me think more deeply about God, theology, and our impact on the world.
My Future
I am currently the youth pastor at Winnetka Covenant Church in the near north suburbs of Chicago, and I hope to be able to continue in ministry in the Covenant Church after graduation. My education at North Park is already greatly impacting and influencing the ministry I do in my pastoral role. My own faith, as well as the way I preach, teach, and pastor, has been deepened so much by my time at North Park. I’m very grateful for that.
